Event Recap: |
The first ever Hope at the Point Black Tie Hope Gala event was held in January, 2011 in the beautiful Dale Earnhardt Trophy Room and Showroom. The Hope at the Point Foundation dedicated this fund raising event to children with the Children’s Home of Iredell County and Barium Springs Home for Children being the beneficiaries. The event received outstanding sponsorship from Randy Marion, Charles Stoner from The Stoner Group, The Herman and Smith Group from UBS Financial, Joe & Julie Tilton and Jim & Marnie Hicks. In addition, Kelly Patterson the anchor from the Charlotte NBC affiliate WCNC morning news show was our emcee and former Panther defensive back, Mike Minter was our guest speaker.The Hope Gala included a five course gourmet dinner, wines paired with each course, entertainment by recording artist Robyn Springer, plus a silent and live auction filled with many exciting items. To state that the Gala was a success would be a major understatement. Total revenues from the Gala exceeded $100,000, with the net proceeds totalling over $80,000. Based on these results, The Foundation was able to make a distribution of $66,000 between Children’s Home and Barium Springs. Children’s Home has already put their money to good use by opening a thrift store that will be used as a personal development training center for their children. Barium Springs is working on plans to build their first playground area on campus with the funds they received. |
